A Nepali freelancer’s minimum viable contract — what you actually need

Five clauses that have saved me from three different clients:

1. Scope, with what’s NOT included listed explicitly.
2. Payment milestones, not net-30 lump sum.
3. Kill-fee clause — 50% if cancelled mid-project.
4. IP transfer on final payment, not on delivery.
5. Jurisdiction stays in your client’s country, not Nepal — this is a feature, not a bug.
