Short answer: Take the remote job if the goal is compounding savings or migration; join the Nepali startup if the goal is operator skills and shipping product end-to-end.
The trade matrix.
- Remote US/EU job: 3 to 5x salary, narrower scope, you become very good at your slice. Career capital is portable. Time zones eat your evenings.
- Nepali product startup: Lower cash, wider scope. You ship features and watch them die or hit. You learn pricing, hiring, churn — first hand. Career capital is local, but real.
The bit most people miss. The first three years compound very differently. Money compounds if invested. Operator skill compounds if practised. Pick the one you will actually use.
Which way did you choose, and would you choose it again? Reply — your hindsight is gold.
