Short answer: File at the Nepal Police Cyber Bureau, Bhotahiti, with screenshots and platform URLs. Online complaints are accepted; in-person follow-up is often required.
Documentation to carry.
- Screenshots of messages, posts, accounts — timestamped.
- URLs of profiles or pages.
- Citizenship or other ID.
- A simple written narrative: who, what, when, where.
Realistic timelines.
- Acknowledgement: 1 to 7 days.
- Investigation: variable; severe cases (threats, intimate-image abuse) move faster.
- Resolution: weeks to months depending on platform cooperation.
The exception most miss. Platform takedown is faster than legal process. Report to the platform in parallel.
Has the Cyber Bureau response held for you? What worked, what didn’t?
