Short answer: Practise under timed conditions from week one. Most candidates lose to clock pressure, not to question difficulty.
What matters by exam.
- CMAT (KU School of Management) — quantitative, verbal, analytical reasoning. Recent papers have added more case-style verbal items.
- KUUMAT (KU Medical) — biology depth and analytical writing weighted higher.
- IOE entrance — physics and maths breadth, with a noticeable bump in applied-mechanics problems this cycle.
The exception most miss. The negative-marking penalty disciplines guesses. Calibrate which questions to leave blank — full-mark sections do not need bravery; weak-area sections do.
