Short answer: Eat small and earlier, identify your two or three personal triggers, and run a proton-pump-inhibitor course only under a gastroenterologist — not from a pharmacy counter.
The first three changes that usually move it.
- Last meal three hours before sleep.
- Elevate the head of the bed 10 to 15 cm if night reflux is the main symptom.
- Cut down on tea, coffee, late chiya, raw onion if any of these spike you.
What needs escalation.
- Symptoms beyond 8 weeks despite changes.
- Black or tarry stool — emergency.
- Weight loss with reflux — see a gastroenterologist this week.
The exception most miss. H. pylori testing is cheap, available, and often the missing variable.
What is the meal or habit that taught you what your body cannot tolerate?
